Lovin my new Prismacolor pencils

January 26th, 2008

I just treated myself to a set of 120 prismacolor pencils and all of the accessories to actually use them. Gamasol, paper blender stumps, sand paper etc. I didn’t quite know exactly how to do this technique but just winged it and the below cards are what I ended up with today. My fingers have blisters from sharpening all of those pencils but it was certainly worth it!

Love my Stampendous- Ollie & Olivia:

Here is a Whipper Snapper “Hooker Worm” image that is just too cute:

I have just discovered Inky Impressions and wish I could afford to buy all of the stamps in their catalog. These next 2 cards are made with the “My Funky Valentine” set. The heart is simply embossed with whote EP and it was so easy. However the glass card which I call Love Potion #9- was much more work for not quite the result I was going for.. (My own fault- I have trouble simplifying things…) Thanks for looking :)

Who Needs Stamps?

January 7th, 2008

I have this desire to design my own stamps. I am inspired by my favorite websites like MFT, Bellas etc.. and I just know I can put our some cute stuff but have no idea what the first step would be to get started. I figure, there are so many stamps I want and if they are not out- Ill just draw them… Here are just a few doodles for my chocolate themed images…(watermarked)

I have 12 designs for a chocolate themed stamp set. Who doesn’t like chocolate? Anyone interested? I have some cute sayings in mind too….

1-13-08    Here is my chocolate chip cookie image made into a cute card- photos never do it justice. These look good enough to eat. I colored them in with colored pencils and used bling rhinestone brads. I think it came out cute! The one on the bottom right is popped up for dimension but you cant really see it in the picture.

For this card- I drew the Hershey Kisses and cut them out of cardboard wrapping them in foil and popping them with pop dots for added dimension. I love the googley eyes… Its not want I originally had in mind but-its OK.

1/27/08 My latest and favorite addition to my “Who Needs Stamps” is my chocolate covered strawberry. Looks good enough to eat! I colored this with Prismacolor pencils and I really like the way it came out :) So many possibilities with this one. I’m enjoying playing and will continue to sketch away. Who know, maybe one day I’ll have my own line of stamps!
